We installed a hybrid SMA AC-coupled solar system at the Manekharka Clinic in Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchok District, in an area where the local grid provides minimal support. The clinic’s existing distribution network was in better shape than many of the neighbouring sites we’ve worked on, which let us focus on high-capacity storage and clean integration.
The battery bank uses high-capacity 2 V cells in a 48 V configuration, giving a more durable reserve than a standard setup. At the clinic’s request we later ran a PV extension, adding additional solar and inverter capacity to support an expanding load. The installation includes a custom switchboard with high-quality breakers, surge protection (SPD), and a simplified bypass for easy maintenance — and we re-wired the facility to keep protected loads separate from grid-fed circuits.
