Humla District Hospital — Simikot

Humla, Karnali

In partnership with UNICEF

Peak Power partnered with UNICEF on a solar installation at Humla District Hospital in Simikot. Humla is Nepal’s second-largest district by area, sits mostly above 3,000 m, and the hospital is the primary medical facility for the 50,000-plus people who live across it.

The site uses a UNICEF-standardised 18 kW design that Peak Power and UNICEF have now deployed at half a dozen district hospitals — same architecture, different terrain. The system runs the loads that can’t lose power: the cold chain, surgical and emergency lighting, and diagnostic and monitoring equipment.
